How do I join the Entomological Society of Victoria?
To join the Entomological Society of Victoria you need to purchase a membership through our online store.
How much will my membership cost?
Depending on the membership you purchase, the cost will vary. Descriptions of each membership type can be found at the top of this page.

How much will my membership cost if I purchase my membership later in the calendar year?
Depending on when you purchase your membership during the calendar year (i.e. January1st to December 31st), a discount may be automatically applied.
Membership Purchase Date: January 1st to March 31st
Discount Applied: 0 % discount
Membership Purchase Date: April 1st to June 30th
Discount Applied: 25% discount
Membership Purchase Date: July 1st to September 30th
Discount Applied: 50% discount

When do I have to renew my membership?
Memberships are due on January 1st each year.
More than one member of my household wants to become a member of the Entomological Society of Victoria. Do they all need their own membership?
Yes. An Associate membership is a good option for additional household members.
What payment options are available to pay for my membership?
All memberships must be purchased through the Society’s online store. The only payment option is by credit card / debit card. We don’t accept cheques or direct deposits.
Will I get a reminder when my membership renewal is due?
Yes. The Secretary of the Society will email you prior to January 1st to remind you that you’re membership renewal is due.
How do I renew my membership?
When you receive the “membership renewal” email from the Secretary of the Society, you should purchase a new membership through the Society’s online store.
What if forget to renew my membership by January 1st?
The Secretary of the Society will send reminders to members who fail to renew by January 1st. Members have a 2-month grace period to renew, after which their membership will be automatically cancelled.
What if I want to cancel my membership during the year (i.e before January 1st)? Will I be refunded any portion of my membership??
No portion of any membership is refundable.
Can I change my membership type during the year (i.e before January 1st)?
No. While an active membership can't be changed during the calendar year, when it's time for renewal you can change your membership type at that time to suit your circumstances.
What if my membership details (eg. Email / address / phone number) change during the year? What should I do?
You should immediately email our Secretary at secretary@entsocvic.org.au to advise them of this. They will then update the Society’s membership records.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time by emailing our Secretary at secretary@entsocvic.org.au.
When I become a member, I don’t want to get a printed copy of the Victorian Entomologist? Is this possible?
Yes. To get a digital copy of the Victorian Entomologist, simply purchase a Digital membership from the Society’s online store and we will send you the Victorian Entomologist via email as a PDF.
