Maranoa Botanic Gardens 100th Birthday
The Maranoa Botanic Gardens 100th Birthday celebration takes place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is a free community event marking 100 years since the gardens first opened in Balwyn, Victoria.
The Entomological Society of Victoria has been invited by the City of Boroondara to take part in this event, and will be setting up a table. Society members are invited to attend to take part in celebrations and to explore this amazing park.
Black Hill Reserve, Kyneton
This is the fourth EntSocVic members excursion for 2026.
Meet at “Black Hills Reserve, Kyneton”, at the Black Hill Reserve Carpark at 3.00 PM for an afternoon exploring the park. In the evening we will set up moth sheets in various locations to see what kinds of insects we can attract. The event will end at around 11.00 PM.
Biodiversity Month - City of Casey
The Entomological Society of Victoria will be partnering with the City of Casey to run a “moth night” as part of the “City of Casey Biodiversity Month 2026”.
The event will be held on Tuesday September 29th, 2026 at Morning Mist Recreation Reserve, Cranbourne South.

Riverfest 2026 - City of Boroondara
This event is part of Riverfest 2026 and will be a partnership between the Entomological Society of Victoria and the City of Boroondarra.
The event will be held on Friday October 2nd, 2026, at Willsmere Billabong in Kew, from 6.00 to 9.00pm

Moth Night - Shire of Nillumbik
The Entomological Society of Victoria is partnering once again with the Shire of Nillumbik for a “moth night” at Hohnes Hill Reserve, Eltham. Come along and experience the amazing array of insects and arachnids that can be found here.
The event will be held on Saturday November 7th, 2026, at Hohnes Hill Reserve, Eltham 8.00pm to midnight.

Mount Worth State Park, Allambee
This is the sixth EntSocVic members excursion for 2026.
Meet at “Mount Worth State Park, Allambee”, at the Moonlight Creek Picnic Area at 3.00 PM for an afternoon exploring the park. In the evening we will set up moth sheets in various locations to see what kinds of insects we can attract. The event will end at around 11.00 PM.
Churchill National Park, Lysterfield
This is the final EntSocVic members excursion for 2026.
Meet at “Churchill National Park, Lysterfield”, at the Churchill National Park Barbecue Area at 3.00 PM for an afternoon exploring the park. In the evening we will set up moth sheets in various locations to see what kinds of insects we can attract. The event will end at around 11.00 PM.
City Nature Challenge 2026 - City of Boroondara
This event is part of the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge for 2026 and will be a partnership between the Entomological Society of Victoria and the City of Boroondarra.
The event will be held on Friday April 24th at Maranoa Botanic Gardens, Parring Rd, Balwyn.

Shire of Nillumbik
The Entomological Society of Victoria is partnering once again with the Shire of Nillumbik for a “moth night” at Fergusons Paddock. Come along and experience the amazing array of insects and arachnids that can be found here.

Tarra-Bulga National Park
This is the second EntSocVic members excursion for 2026.
NOTE: This not a Society run event, but will be run by the Friends of Tarra Bulga National Park. All Entomological Society of Victoria members are welcome to attend
Meet at the “Tarra-Bulga Visitors Centre”, 1885 Grand Ridge Rd, Balook, at 3.00 PM for an afternoon exploring the national park. In the evening we will set up moth sheets in various locations to see what kinds of insects we can attract. The event will end at around 11.00 PM.
Morwell National Park
This is the first EntSocVic members excursion for 2026.
